We’re an exciting cause with a lot of important organizations involved, and major celebrities – but that doesn’t mean that we don’t need help!
You have the option to volunteer a little bit of time, as outlined under Joining Our Team, in your community – high school, college, business, circle of friends and family – but we also have a few opportunities for longer-range commitments – a minimum of two months, ten hours a week – helping us in one of the following areas.
- You work from home, virtually – connecting by phone, video hangout, email – with daily check-ins and bi-weekly written updates to us required.
- These are unpaid positions.
- A minimum two-month commitment is required.
- Benefits include doing important work, and a blue-chip credit on your resume, with major brand-name participants.
Viral Marketing (Estimated, 20 hours per week)
Promote the campaign, get the word out, and encourage participation in our engagement components – uploading video shares, contributing a blog, uploading jpegs, taking the 24-hour challenge, etc – to constituencies online, including relevant groups and organizations who are involved in the issues, “influencers,” news blogs, issue blogs. Strategize awareness-building on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Requirements include innovative thinking, an understanding of viral marketing, strategic marketing and promotion savvy, conviction about the issue of equality, justice and tolerance, good writing, internet skills, go-getter, good with people.

College Campus Engagement Coordinator (Estimated, 90 minutes per day)
One of the key areas of the campaign is the academic participation by colleges and high schools. We require an individual who can aggressively and dynamically outreach to schools, faculties, deans, departments and academic organizations, to promote the campaign, and build local participation across the country (and beyond). Our goal is for teachers and professors across the country devoting a class to a Video Classroom Project on American Founding Ideals. Requirements include an understanding of how to access teachers and administrators at colleges or high schools, strategic marketing and promotion savvy, conviction about the issue of equality, justice and tolerance, good writing, internet skills, organized and detail-oriented.

Blog Editor and Monitor (Estimated one hour per day)
As the amount of blogging increases, we require someone who can contribute to and oversee the blogging platform on our website. Skills required include familiarity with a WordPress type of format, excellent writing and editing skills, dynamic headline writing, detail-oriented, an understanding of the issues and sensitive and intuitive people skills.

Facebook Editor and Monitor (Estimated, 90 minutes per day)
As a key platform of our campaign, we require someone who can oversee activity on the Facebook platform, monitor comments, respond to comments in an official capacity, monitor back-end sign-ups, promote our campaign across Facebook to encourage visiting, “liking” and participating. Skills required include extensive familiarity with Facebook, good writing skills, sensitive and intuitive people skills in responding to comments, understanding and sensitivity to issues, go-getter, detail-oriented.

As a key platform of our campaign, we require someone who can oversee activity on the Twitter platform, monitor comments, respond to comments in an official capacity, promote our campaign on Twitter, use daily current events to continue to build awareness of our campaign with retweets. Skills required include extensive familiarity with Twitter, sensitive and intuitive people skills, good snappy concise writing, understanding of key issues, go-getter, detail-oriented.
